If you live with MS, you’re living with the chronic attack of your nervous system administered by your own immune system. Clinically Isolated Syndrome is like MS in that it’s caused by damage to your nervous system, but it’s different from MS in that this attack only happens one time. To put it in perspective, most people with MS have had two or more episodes of neurologic symptoms, but those with CIS have only had one, thus the “isolated” part of the name.
